Show & Tell Meetings

Members bring works in progress, finished pieces, books and collections for show and tell. We discuss club events and the modeling community, how-to demonstrations and discussions on modeling techniques. Meetings typically last no longer than 2 hours.

Paint Days

Members bring there current projects, paints & brushes to paint, colabrate and learn from each other as we all get to paint uninterupted by outside distrations that we all have at home. Meeting go through lunch with pizza brought in to sustain club members as they paint as long as they wish into the afternoon.

Photos from club meetings and activities can be found on both Facebook & Flickr.

Figure modelers and enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Everyone attending AMFS meetings enjoys socializing with fellow modelers and frequently gathers afterwards for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

We are always looking to add folks who enjoy modeling, painting miniatures and enjoy history, fantasy and sci-fi aspects of the hobby.

Atlanta Model Figure Show

Each year the club hosts the AMFS Show that displays figures of a variety of scales spanning the fantasy, sci-fi, horror and historical categories in a showroom for viewing. Pieces range from as small as 15mm – 72mm and can be as large as 1/8 scale. We have categories for vehicles, single figures, dioramas and more.

The AMFS Show also has vendors attending that provide a wide array of products for your general hobby needs.

The AMFS Show judging is based on the Open System of Judging and as a result the event is an exhibition rather than a competition. Entries are not judged against each other, but are evaluated against a standard of painting and/or modeling excellence. As a result of this any number of medals, in all levels from Pewter to Gold, are available for presentation.

There are a number of categories in the show you can submit your pieces into. There is no limit to the number of categories and submissions you provide. In addition to the medals, the Show offers a limited number of Memorial or Specialty awards available to the exhibitors. Many of these awards are given by members or sponsored. Learn more about the list of available awards and categories and their descriptions for the AMFS Show on the AMFS Show page.
